Qualcomm officially unveiled its sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition and Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platforms at the 2026 Snapdragon Summit. The manufacturer describes these new chips as the fastest mobile CPUs currently available on the market.
Nubia Technology, a subsidiary of ZTE, confirmed that the upcoming Red Magic 12 Pro+ smartphone will feature the new Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor. According to company president Ni Fei, the chip provides the necessary speed and power efficiency to support high-performance mobile gaming.
The Red Magic 12 Pro+ is scheduled for release in October 2026. The device is marketed as the most ergonomic flagship in the brand's history, focusing on a thinner, lighter, and more rounded design compared to previous iterations.
Technical refinements include a reduction in screen bezels, which have been narrowed from 1.25 mm to 0.96 mm. The smartphone will continue to utilize a full-screen display without cutouts, maintaining the signature design language of the Red Magic gaming series.
