Red Hat is integrating OpenShell, a secure open runtime for AI agents, into its AI platform. The technology was developed by Nvidia and is designed to provide governance and safety for OpenClaw deployments.
The OpenShell architecture operates by placing AI agents into isolated sandbox environments. This approach allows engineers to deploy agents using Kubernetes native APIs without needing to learn new interfaces.
The company plans to discuss these developments at the upcoming KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA event. Additionally, Red Hat will host an OpenShift Commons Gathering on November 9.
Red Hat executives noted that the OpenShell community is expanding with contributors from various companies. The project builds upon core Kubernetes special interest groups to ensure secure agent management.
