Raspberry Pi has increased the prices of its 2GB RAM models for the third time in 2026. The Raspberry Pi 4 2GB now costs $67.50, up from $55.00, while the Raspberry Pi 5 2GB is priced at $77.50, compared to the previous $65.00.
These adjustments represent a price hike of approximately 23% for the Raspberry Pi 4 and 19% for the Raspberry Pi 5. Compared to their initial launch price of $50.00, the total cumulative increase for these models has reached 50% and 55% respectively.
Eben Upton, head of Raspberry Pi, stated that maintaining previous price levels for these versions is no longer economically viable. The company attributes this decision to a sharp rise in the cost of LPDDR4 memory, which is essential for both devices.
According to company data, the cost of DRAM has increased approximately sevenfold over the past year. In an August interview with CNBC, Upton noted that procurement costs for DRAM were already ten times higher than they were 18 months ago.
