Raspberry Pi has officially increased the price of its 2GB RAM models for both the Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 5. Each of these single-board computers now costs $12.50 more than before, marking a significant shift in the company's pricing strategy for these specific hardware configurations.

Following the adjustment, the Raspberry Pi 4 with 2GB of RAM is now priced at $67.50. Meanwhile, the 2GB version of the Raspberry Pi 5 has seen its price rise to $77.50. The company attributes these changes directly to the rising costs of memory components, which have made previous price levels unsustainable.

The organization previously attempted to maintain stable pricing for these models during an initial round of increases back in April. However, current market conditions for memory have forced this latest update. Raspberry Pi officials have acknowledged that this move will likely impact the purchasing plans of many customers.

To help users manage these costs, the company recommends that customers carefully evaluate their memory requirements before making a purchase to avoid paying for unused capacity. Alternatively, the manufacturer suggests considering older hardware options such as the Raspberry Pi 3B, 3A+, or 3B+ for those looking for more budget-friendly alternatives.
