The unique 1984 Mercedes-Benz 190E, a prototype developed by Callaway in the 1980s, is currently listed for auction on Bring a Trailer. The vehicle is part of the Tons of Gas Auto Collection located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is being sold without reserve.

The car features a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Modifications include components from BBS, Bilstein, and Recaro. During a 2022 restoration, the engine received a rebuilt turbocharger with Garrett components, a custom exhaust, and a MicroSquirt ECU.

The interior includes Recaro seats and a MOMO steering wheel with an integrated boost gauge. While the original Becker radio is inoperable, other systems such as climate control and cruise control remain functional. The odometer displays approximately 136,000 miles.

The seller reports that $100,000 was spent on a recent restoration covering the engine, suspension, and interior. The sale includes service records, a Callaway Certificate of Authenticity, and a 1985 issue of Road and Track magazine. Current bidding stands at $13,500.
