The Apple-1 computer, known as the Hatfield model, was sold at an online auction for $1,148,200. The auction was conducted by the Bonhams house. This sale set a new record for the specific device, which previously sold for $686,000 in 2013.

The device is notable for having the signature of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak on its motherboard. The package also includes a letter signed by Steve Jobs. The computer remains in fully functional condition, and its provenance can be traced back to its original owner, Fred Hatfield.

Historical records show that Fred Hatfield once contacted Apple to complain about the limited software available for the machine. Steve Jobs offered to exchange the unit for an Apple II, but Hatfield declined the offer. This decision allowed him to retain the rare piece of computing history.
