The Radeon RX 9070 XT has become the most popular AMD GPU in Steam's hardware survey. Its market share grew from 1.35% in June to 1.40% in July and reached 1.46% in August.

The card has surpassed the Radeon RX 6600, which previously held the top spot for AMD. The RX 6600's share decreased from 0.87% to 0.85% in August, while the newer Radeon RX 9060 XT reached 0.82%.

The RX 9070 XT's popularity is now higher than some older Nvidia GeForce cards. It outperformed the RTX 3080, which had a 1.38% share in August, while the GTX 1660 Super remains slightly ahead with 1.47%.

Nvidia's Blackwell generation GPUs continue to dominate the mass market. The RTX 5070 holds a 3.77% share, the RTX 5060 has 3.16%, and the RTX 5060 Ti has 2.55%. The RTX 5070 is nearly three times as popular as the RX 9070 XT.

High-end Blackwell models like the RTX 5080 (1.71%) and RTX 5070 Ti (1.82%) also remain more popular than the AMD card. Meanwhile, the non-XT version of the Radeon RX 9070 has a much lower share of 0.20%.

Valve has updated the recognition mechanism for RDNA 4 architecture GPUs in the Steam Hardware Survey to ensure more representative results. This allows RX 9070 XT, RX 9070, and RX 9060 XT models to be listed separately.
