Qualcomm has established a multi-generational product partnership with Amazon. This agreement is part of a broader strategy to secure long-term supply contracts with major technology platforms as the company diversifies its business beyond the smartphone market.

The two companies have a history of collaboration dating back to 2014, when the Amazon Fire Phone utilized the Snapdragon 800 processor. More recently, in January 2025, they announced a joint effort to develop AI-driven in-vehicle experiences by integrating the Snapdragon Digital Cockpit Platform with Amazon's AI services, including the Alexa Custom Assistant.

Qualcomm is pursuing ambitious financial targets, aiming for approximately $40 billion in total revenue from non-handset chips. The company specifically expects data center revenue to exceed $15 billion by fiscal 2029.

The chipmaker has also secured a multi-generational CPU agreement with Meta Platforms for the Dragonfly C1000 project, which is expected to enter production in the second half of 2028. This follows a trend of hybrid edge-cloud AI architectures where Qualcomm handles edge processing and cloud services manage heavier workloads.
