The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), which oversees assets worth $580 billion, is reportedly planning a $20 billion investment partnership with JPMorgan. The collaboration will focus on equities and private markets, marking a significant allocation between the Gulf sovereign fund and the Wall Street bank.

This deal follows other major commitments by QIA. In January 2026, the fund announced a $25 billion alliance with Goldman Sachs for private markets and AI, and in December 2025, it launched a $20 billion joint venture with Brookfield Asset Management for AI infrastructure.

These three partnerships total approximately $65 billion, accounting for over 11% of QIA’s total assets. For JPMorgan, the deal expands its regional footprint, following its investment of over $20 billion in the Gulf since early 2026 to support reconstruction efforts.

JPMorgan estimates that hundreds of billions of dollars will be required for postwar reconstruction in sectors like energy and logistics. Meanwhile, QIA is also focusing on domestic growth, having launched a new division, Doha Investment, in September 2026 to manage local portfolios.
