Privacy coins have outperformed all other cryptocurrency sectors, showing a 213% increase since Bitcoin reached its peak of $126 199 on October 6, 2025. Data from Glassnode indicates that while privacy assets grew, other sectors declined, with gaming assets falling by 74% and DeFi by 27%.

The total market value of the privacy sector rose from $7,1 billion to $33,6 billion. Zcash and Monero account for approximately 90% of this sector's value. Zcash alone is valued at $19,9 billion, with its price increasing by 687% since the October Bitcoin peak, currently trading near $1 180.

Operational milestones for Zcash included patching a critical bug in its shielded pool in June and implementing the Ironwood network upgrade in July. Additionally, Grayscale’s Zcash ETF assets have grown to $463 million. Despite this, the sector remains concentrated, as only four of the top 25 coins currently trade above their October prices.

Broader market performance remains subdued, with only 9% of the top 200 coins trading above their October 2025 levels. While all 10 sectors tracked by Glassnode saw gains last month, privacy coins led with a 90% increase. Smaller privacy assets show limited growth, with Decred recording a 2% gain over the period.
