Postgres Professional has released version 2.9 of its Postgres Pro Enterprise Manager (PPEM) platform. The update introduces an enhanced operations center that allows administrators to monitor entire failover clusters as single objects, streamlining the management of distributed database infrastructures.
The Active Session Engine (ASE) diagnostic tool now supports raw data exports for external analysis and provides deeper insights into SQL statistics and prepared statements. The interface and visualization capabilities for performance monitoring have also been updated to improve usability.
Security has been strengthened with the implementation of mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication. This feature enables managers and agents to verify each other using certificates during HTTPS connections, reducing the risk of unauthorized access in sensitive environments.
Additional updates include improved task management, manual repository cleanup to prevent storage issues, and an upgrade to Go version 1.26.6. The company also announced the upcoming Healthcheck Advisor module, which will automatically analyze database telemetry to provide actionable recommendations.
