Positive Technologies is phasing out its legacy security products, MaxPatrol 8 and XSpider 7.8, as part of a strategic shift in its vulnerability management portfolio. The company will focus future development on its current solutions, MaxPatrol VM and XSpider Pro, to better address the complexities of modern IT infrastructures.
Sales of the legacy versions will officially cease on December 31, 2026. Until that date, existing customers can purchase new licenses for up to 12 months or extend current ones, provided the expiration date does not exceed December 31, 2027. Starting January 1, 2027, all sales and renewals for these products will be discontinued.
The company confirmed that technical support for previously purchased licenses will continue in full, adhering to existing warranty obligations. Clients are encouraged to migrate to MaxPatrol VM or XSpider Pro, which offer broader support for diverse operating systems and software environments, including Docker containers.
XSpider Pro is positioned for small and medium-sized businesses, while MaxPatrol VM is designed for large-scale enterprise vulnerability management. In 2026, XSpider Pro received certification from the FSTEC of Russia, enabling its use in organizations subject to strict regulatory requirements.
