Porsche has introduced a new generation of its Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) system. The upgrade is designed for more than 300,000 vehicles produced between 2009 and 2016, including the 997.2 and 991.1 generations of the 911, as well as the 987.2 and 981 Boxster and Cayman models.
The system features a seven-inch high-resolution touchscreen and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It maintains compatibility with existing vehicle electronics, such as multifunction steering wheels, factory sound systems, parking sensors, and reversing cameras.
Additional capabilities include a trip computer displaying oil temperature and pressure, a navigation system with speed limit data, satellite imagery, and a Scenic Roads function. The unit also supports DAB, HD, FM, and AM radio, Bluetooth audio streaming, and 4G connectivity through a nano-SIM slot.
The hardware is designed to integrate with the original dashboard aesthetics, allowing users to customize the virtual vehicle display to match their car's exterior color. The system also supports over-the-air map updates and, in specific markets, video streaming while the vehicle is stationary.
