Hedley Studios has unveiled the 550 J Junior Spyder, an 80% scale electric tribute to the classic 1953 Porsche 550 Spyder. The vehicle is priced starting at $93,800 before taxes. Production is strictly limited to 250 units worldwide, with deliveries scheduled to commence in early 2027.
The car features a hand-assembled steel space frame chassis and a carbon fiber body. Measuring approximately 2.9 meters in length and 1.2 meters in width, it accommodates two passengers. The vehicle weighs 330 kg, significantly lighter than the original 1953 model, which weighed about 550 kg.
Equipped with a 48V electric powertrain, the standard model delivers 11 horsepower and reaches a top speed of 64 km/h. An optional RS Package increases output to 22 horsepower and raises the top speed to 80 km/h, offering a range between 48 and 80 km depending on driving conditions.
Porsche emphasizes that the 550 J is intended exclusively for use on private estates and closed tracks. The manufacturer states that the vehicle cannot be registered for public road use and is positioned as a collectible item rather than a standard automobile.
