Porsche has released a teaser video for its upcoming hypercar, currently referred to as the Mission S. The footage highlights a tachometer reaching 8,000 rpm and showcases a gauge cluster design featuring extending and retracting elements.
The automaker is developing a new mid-engine platform intended to sit above the 911 in its product lineup. This architecture is designed to support a future family of high-end performance vehicles, marking the brand's return to the hypercar segment.
While the powertrain specifications remain unconfirmed, the teaser indicates the use of a PDK gearbox. Industry reports speculate on the potential inclusion of a flat-eight engine and hybrid technology, following the precedent set by the 918 Spyder.
The official debut of the Porsche Mission S is scheduled for October 15. This project follows a lineage of halo cars from the manufacturer, including the 959, Carrera GT, and the 918 Spyder.
