Porsche has released a new teaser video for its upcoming Mission S supercar. The footage highlights a tachometer needle reaching 8000 rpm and showcases a retractable instrument cluster feature.

The vehicle is built on a new mid-engine supercar platform, which Porsche has officially positioned above the 911 model. The company intends to develop this platform into a full series of high-performance vehicles.

The Mission S marks Porsche's return to the flagship supercar segment. Its predecessors include the 918 Spyder, which featured a hybrid system with 887 horsepower, as well as the Carrera GT and the 959.

The new model is a key component of the brand's revitalization strategy announced this week. The official debut of the Mission S is scheduled for October 15.
