Porsche has begun testing the upcoming electric 718 Boxster at the Nürburgring track in Germany. The vehicle was spotted without camouflage, providing a clear look at its design features.
The new model features front air intakes with sharp louvers and headlights that resemble those on the Taycan. The side intakes appear smaller or absent, and the vehicle lacks an exhaust system.
CEO Michael Leiters confirmed in August that the project remains active, citing economic benefits. The development of the 718 EV involves a platform-sharing agreement with Audi.
Production of the previous 718 Boxster and Cayman models was scheduled to end in 2025. The new electric version is expected to launch in 2026.
