Pony.ai and Uber have announced plans to launch testing for their seventh-generation robotaxis in London. The trials are scheduled to begin within the coming weeks in the city, which serves as a major European transportation hub.
This expansion follows a partnership established in March between Pony.ai, Uber, and Verne. The collaboration previously resulted in the launch of a commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb, Croatia, which became available through the Uber app in August.
Pony.ai operates across three main segments: autonomous taxi services, autonomous trucking, and intelligent solutions. The company currently maintains operations in China, the United States, and Europe, aiming to scale its global presence.
Looking ahead, Pony.ai plans to expand its robotaxi fleet to over 3,500 vehicles by the end of 2026. The company intends to operate in more than 20 cities globally, with projections indicating that revenue from its autonomous mobility services will reach 3.5 times the 2025 levels.
