The new After Hours edition of the Pixel Tunes portable CD player features a translucent green shell that glows in the dark. The device is designed to transition from a standard smoke-colored appearance during the day to a phosphorescent green glow in low-light conditions.
The player includes modern technical specifications, such as a USB Type-C rechargeable lithium-ion battery and support for Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The manufacturer, Sincere Inc., offers the device alongside other color variants like Warm Gray, Ray of Light, and 1983.
The product is currently listed at ¥12 980, which is approximately $83. International customers outside of Japan can purchase the device through Amazon Japan or various forwarding services.
The documentation for the Pixel Tunes does not specify compatibility with CD-R or CD-RW discs, nor does it mention support for MP3 files or USB audio playback. The market for translucent portable CD players also includes other recent releases, such as the orange Death Stranding 2-themed model from km5.
