Pimax has unveiled its latest VR headset, the Crystal Pro, which functions as both a standalone device and a PC-tethered display. The hardware is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen1 processor and features QD Mini LED panels with a per-eye resolution of 2880x2880 pixels.
The device offers refresh rates of 72Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, with a 110-degree horizontal field of view. It is equipped with a 16000mAh battery. Users can choose between standard Wi-Fi streaming, a DisplayPort 1.4a wired connection, or an optional 60GHz millimeter-wave AirLink kit that supports 2x2 MIMO technology.
The AirLink kit provides a theoretical throughput of 6Gbps with latency under 2ms. Tracking capabilities include eye tracking, SLAM 2.0, and modular faceplates, such as Lighthouse laser positioning or full-color MR mixed reality panels with depth sensing.
The base price for the Crystal Pro is $1,399, while the bundle including the AirLink kit is priced at $1,899. The AirLink kit can also be purchased separately for $599. Alongside the headset, Pimax introduced ringless VR controllers and the Spation desktop PC.
