PG&E has expanded its Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) program, adding support for EVs from Tesla, Kia, Volvo, Polestar, and Nissan. The utility company has partnered with Bidirectional Energy and PowerFlex to implement this expansion. Eligible participants have until June 30, 2027, to enroll in the program.
Residential customers can receive an upfront payment of $2,500, which increases to $3,000 for those living in disadvantaged communities. The first 250 participants will receive an additional Early Adopter Incentive of $1,500. Furthermore, specific combinations of DCBEL and Wallbox chargers can qualify for up to $13,000 in additional funding via a California Energy Commission grant.
The expanded list of eligible vehicles includes the Nissan Leaf (2018-2025) with a DCBel Ara charger, the Volvo EX90 (2025) and Polestar 3 (2025) with DCBel Ara chargers, and the Kia EV9 (2024+) and Kia EV6 (2025+) with Wallbox Quasar 2. Additionally, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, Cadillac Celestiq, and Cadillac Escalade IQL have been added to the GM lineup.
Commercial customers have separate incentive tiers. They can receive between $2,500 and $3,000 for a 3-phase bidirectional charger under 50 kW, and between $4,500 and $5,000 for chargers that are 50 kW or above.
