Peugeot has unveiled the E-T16 Concept, an electric hot hatch developed with Peugeot Sport to mark the 40th anniversary of the 205 T16 rally car. The vehicle features a three-motor powertrain producing 816 horsepower, making it the most powerful model in the brand's history. It achieves a 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 2.5 seconds and reaches 186 mph in 16 seconds.
The concept utilizes an 85-kWh battery with an 800-volt architecture, offering a WLTP range of up to 249 miles. The battery system includes a Side Cooling design that allows for three laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife without power reduction. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes less than 15 minutes.
Technical features include torque vectoring, a hydraulic handbrake, and 15-inch brake discs. The interior introduces a new generation of the i-Cockpit, featuring a rectangular Hypersquare steering control with steer-by-wire technology and a 21-inch panoramic HD display. The cabin incorporates carbon fiber and recycled leather materials.
While the E-T16 serves as a vision for future design and high-performance electric propulsion, Peugeot has not announced plans for a production version. The concept highlights the company's transition to electric power while referencing the heritage of the 205 T16.
