A Reddit user reported that their fourth Intel Core i9-14900K processor is showing signs of instability. Despite replacing the CPU three times under warranty, the current unit continues to crash.

The system is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card and 64 GB of DDR5-6000 CL28 RAM. The user updated the motherboard BIOS with the latest Intel microcode patch and applied standard Intel power settings.

The computer frequently encounters BSOD errors with the code 0xC0000005. This specific error code was previously associated with degradation issues in Intel Core 13th and 14th generation processors.

Intel previously identified that high operating voltages could cause irreversible degradation in these chips. The company released microcode updates to address the instability, but these measures have not resolved the user's situation.

Due to the recurring hardware failures, the user is now considering switching to a different processor platform entirely.
