Peak XV Partners has increased the investment ceiling for its Surge seed-stage platform to $5 million per startup, up from the previous limit of $3 million. The firm unveiled its 12th cohort, which consists of 18 companies. Peak XV invested over $50 million in this group, while the startups have collectively raised more than $90 million in seed funding.
The new cohort features a global reach with founders based in locations ranging from San Francisco to Sydney. While more than half of the companies are based in India, only five focus on the Indian market, with the remaining 13 targeting global customers. The startups operate in sectors including AI, robotics, space, healthcare, and fintech.
Surge has backed more than 180 startups since its launch in 2019. According to Peak XV, the 10 largest companies from these cohorts now generate over $1 billion in combined annual revenue. The firm notes that the threshold for raising a Series A round has risen significantly, leading to larger seed-stage rounds for capital-intensive companies.
The Surge 12 cohort includes companies such as Alma, August AI, Ditto, GameStock, HiLoop, Hoola Health, Kello, Kindling, Puralink, Reinforce Labs, Riffle, Rosella, Tribe Money, ULOOK, and Wingit. Three additional startups in the cohort have not yet publicly disclosed their names or specific products.
