The UK-based payment platform Paua and the Norwegian charging hardware manufacturer Zaptec have formed a strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to provide fleet operators with a unified ecosystem covering home, workplace, depot, and public charging locations.

The integrated solution combines Paua’s charge card and reimbursement platform with Zaptec’s intelligent hardware and fleet management tools. Zaptec chargers use built-in energy meters to share session data with Paua, allowing for automated cost calculations based on employee electricity tariffs.

This process supports HMRC-compliant reimbursement for business mileage. Furthermore, the partnership incorporates Zaptec Go 2 hardware, which is vehicle-to-grid ready. This technology allows fleets to function as distributed energy assets for grid balancing and cost reduction.

Zaptec introduced its V2G AC charger in 2025. Manufacturers including Renault, Toyota, and Audi are currently developing or selling vehicles with bidirectional charging capabilities. Paua recently expanded its network to include 16 electric truck charging sites in the UK.
