Paramount has named Ynon Kreiz as its new co-CEO, a role he will share with David Ellison. The appointment precedes the completion of the $110 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. Kreiz, who previously served as the chairman and CEO of Mattel since 2018, is scheduled to begin his new position on October 5.

The leadership responsibilities are divided between the two executives. Ellison will oversee long-term strategy, creative vision, technology, and capital allocation. Kreiz will manage daily operations and the integration of the two companies. Both executives will report jointly to the board of the combined entity following the merger.

Legal hurdles for the merger have begun to clear, as a judge recently approved a settlement regarding a lawsuit filed by several states. Meanwhile, internal leadership changes continue at the firm. Cindy Holland, the head of streaming, has announced her resignation, and reports indicate that HBO executive Casey Bloys may oversee both Paramount Plus and HBO.
