OpenAI unveiled over 20 new products and updates at its annual DevDay conference on September 29. Key announcements include Dots, a new category of autonomous AI agents, and the GPT-6.1 Sol model. The company also expanded its Codex platform and introduced the Agents API, alongside collaborative tools within ChatGPT.
Dots are AI agents powered by GPT-6 Astra designed for long-term tasks. Each agent operates with its own cloud computer and browser, capable of connecting to over 4,000 applications via plugins. Users can interact with Dots through ChatGPT, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. The feature is currently available for Pro and Business Premium subscribers.
The GPT-6.1 Sol model is optimized for programming and professional tasks. It is priced at $2 per 1 million input tokens and $10 per 1 million output tokens in the API. According to OpenAI, the model matches the performance of GPT-6 Astra in specific benchmarks while reducing execution costs by approximately five times in certain scenarios.
New collaborative features include ChatGPT Space, which provides a shared environment for teams and AI agents. The platform now supports Pages for real-time document editing and upcoming presentation tools. Additionally, the updated Codex platform enables cloud-based task execution and includes new security features for GitHub repository analysis.
Recent reports indicate that OpenAI is in discussions to raise $30 billion, potentially valuing the company at $1.4 trillion. These financial developments coincide with the company's efforts to scale its enterprise-focused AI infrastructure and agent-based workflows.
