OpenAI is currently negotiating a new funding round of $30 billion. The company aims to finalize this deal before its competitor, Anthropic, completes its planned initial public offering.

By closing the round early, OpenAI intends to secure a private valuation exceeding $1.4 trillion. This strategy seeks to avoid a direct market comparison with Anthropic, which is expected to go public in November 2026.

In March 2026, OpenAI raised $122 billion at a post-money valuation of $852 billion. Meanwhile, Anthropic secured $65 billion in May 2026, reaching a valuation of $965 billion.

OpenAI reports an annualized revenue run-rate between $50 billion and $70 billion. The company projects compute-related expenditures of $600 billion through 2030, while Anthropic has disclosed future obligations of $518 billion.

OpenAI plans to conduct its own public offering no earlier than 2027. The company is prioritizing capital for infrastructure development to support its long-term growth and operational requirements.
