OpenAI has introduced a beta version of composer predictions for its software engineering agent, Codex. The new capability is currently accessible exclusively to eligible ChatGPT Pro subscribers.

During the testing phase, the feature is provided at no additional cost. OpenAI has not yet disclosed pricing details or plans for the tool once it exits the beta stage.

Codex was originally launched in May 2025 as a cloud-based agent for software engineering tasks. Since its debut, the company has integrated the tool into IDEs and command-line interfaces.

While the broader Codex Cloud service is available to Plus, Business, Enterprise, Healthcare, and Education accounts, composer predictions remain limited to the Pro tier for now.
