Sachin Katti, the head of infrastructure and AI compute at OpenAI, announced his resignation on October 14. Katti, who joined the company in November 2025 from Intel, will transition into an advisory role to continue supporting the organization.
During his tenure, Katti led the Stargate data center project. He also secured partnerships for computing resources with major suppliers, including SoftBank, Oracle, and Amazon AWS.
Uday Ruddarraju will succeed Katti. Ruddarraju joined OpenAI in July 2025 and was promoted to Chief Technology Officer of Compute Capacity earlier this summer. Previously, he served as the infrastructure engineering lead at xAI.
The departure follows a series of executive exits at OpenAI, including Fidji Simo, Brad Lightcap, Denise Dresser, and David Robinson. President Greg Brockman stated that the company remains resilient despite the scrutiny.
