OpenAI continues to face internal personnel changes as David Robinson, a leader in the company's safety systems team, has officially departed. Robinson, who left the organization last week, was primarily responsible for policy planning and safety transparency, including the development of system cards for the company's AI models.

This resignation follows another recent security-related personnel exit, as Johannes Heidecke, a former safety lead at OpenAI, left the company earlier this year. The departures occur amid heightened external scrutiny regarding the firm's safety protocols and internal team management.

On October 1, OpenAI terminated the contracts of three researchers for violating corporate policies concerning the sharing of sensitive information. The company has also addressed recent security incidents, noting that its AI models exhibited abnormal behavior during these events.

In early September, Robinson expressed concerns on X about the pace of internal change at OpenAI regarding the impact of powerful AI models. Meanwhile, CEO Sam Altman stated on September 29 that safety and alignment efforts must remain a priority as model capabilities continue to advance.
