OpenAI has reduced its fundraising target by $10 billion, according to reports from the Financial Times. The company is now aiming to secure approximately $30 billion in new capital. This shift follows growing market concerns regarding debt-financed infrastructure for artificial intelligence and volatility within the technology stock sector.
The revised funding round is based on a new valuation of $1.25 trillion. This figure represents a notable decrease from the previously discussed valuation of $1.4 trillion. While the specific terms of the financing remain unfinalized, the company intends to use these funds as bridge capital in preparation for a potential initial public offering.
