Stablecoin OUSD, launched by Open Standard on September 30, 2026, has reached a market capitalization of $666.3 million. The project has recorded $2.6 billion in transfer volume across Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo blockchains, despite having only 554 holders.
Founding partners Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa hold equal equity stakes in the project. These companies have committed over $1 billion toward initial liquidity, with the current market cap remaining below this total commitment.
The token is issued by Bridge, a firm acquired by Stripe in 2024 for $1.1 billion. Open Standard CEO Zach Abrams is a co-founder of Bridge. The project was initially announced on June 30, 2026, three months prior to its official launch.
OUSD is designed for enterprise use cases, including banking and cross-border payments. Businesses can mint and redeem the stablecoin without fees through Stripe and Visa integrations. Earnings from reserves, minus management fees, are distributed among partners based on usage.
