Onyx Boox unveiled its new compact e-reader, the Boox Picco, during the IFA 2026 exhibition. The device is designed specifically for a distraction-free reading experience and is scheduled to hit the market in November 2026.

The reader features a 3.97-inch E-ink display equipped with a front light that allows users to adjust both brightness and color temperature. Its small form factor is intended for portability, and the hardware includes physical page-turning buttons for improved navigation.

The Boox Picco runs on a streamlined Linux operating system. Connectivity options include a USB-C port and a microSD card slot. Users can transfer content via a wired connection from a computer or wirelessly through Wi-Fi.

The device is expected to retail for $100. Beyond reading, the software includes built-in productivity tools such as reading statistics, a to-do list, a Pomodoro timer, and a standard timer.
