OnePlus and BOE have officially unveiled the fourth-generation Oriental screen, developed through their joint research efforts. The display utilizes the new X4 light-emitting material, which the companies claim improves color accuracy, brightness, power efficiency, and lifespan. Each sub-pixel undergoes three rounds of hardware calibration on a specialized production line.

The new display technology introduces a global high-refresh-rate standard, offering 165Hz for daily tasks and up to 185Hz for gaming. Despite the increased refresh rate, power consumption remains comparable to the previous 120Hz generation. The screen also features a true 1nit hardware-level dimming capability for comfortable low-light usage.

Equipped with the proprietary P4 display chip, the screen includes new eye-protection technologies and dynamic clarity features. The OnePlus 16 smartphone will be the first device to feature this display, which is framed by 1.15mm ultra-narrow bezels. The official launch of the device is scheduled for October 12 at 19:00.
