OnePlus China President Li Jie announced that the upcoming OnePlus 16 smartphone will feature a triple-frequency GPS and quad-frequency BeiDou navigation system. This upgrade aims to improve positioning speed and navigation accuracy. The device is scheduled for an official launch on October 12.

The smartphone will be equipped with the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor. It also integrates a new gaming kernel directly into the chip architecture. The company has already started displaying the device in OPPO retail stores across China ahead of the official release.

The device includes three proprietary chips: the G3 gaming network chip, the T3 touch control chip, and the P4 display chip. The G3 chip reduces cellular gaming latency by 13.39 percent, improves Wi-Fi stability by 18.5 percent, and enhances Wi-Fi network contention by 11.5 percent.

The T3 touch control chip offers customized gaming settings and has been optimized for various shooter games. Meanwhile, the P4 display chip utilizes advanced manufacturing processes, resulting in a 20 percent increase in transistor count and a 25 percent improvement in data processing performance compared to previous iterations.
