OnePlus President Li Jie announced that the upcoming OnePlus 16 will be the first device to feature a global 165 Hz refresh rate. This high refresh rate will be supported across both system menus and all third-party applications, as confirmed by testing.
The smartphone will utilize the Oriental Screen X4 luminescent material and updated circuitry to support these display capabilities at the hardware level. Additionally, the device will be the first to launch with the ColorOS 17 operating system.
According to industry insider Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 will be equipped with a 9000 mAh battery. While this battery capacity has previously appeared in the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Nord 6 models, it marks a record for the company's flagship series.
Oppo has scheduled the rollout of ColorOS 17 to begin on October 8. The initial update phase will include the Oppo Find N6, Find X9, OnePlus 15, 15T, and Realme GT8 Pro series. The OnePlus 16, along with the Oppo Find X10 and Watch S2, will be among the first devices to receive the new software.
