The OKX Money application enables users to store, transfer, and spend stablecoins, including USDG, USDC, and USDT. Customers can fund their accounts using over 50 local currencies, which are then converted into dollar-backed assets. The platform also provides users with the option to utilize virtual or physical payment cards.
Eligible users can earn an annual percentage yield of up to 10% on their USDG balances without the need for staking or lockup periods. Qualification for higher yield tiers depends on factors such as 30-day average deposit thresholds, spending volumes, or the user's VIP status on the exchange. The company notes that specific rates and eligibility criteria vary by region.
The service is currently rolling out across parts of Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. OKX is implementing the launch on a market-by-market basis to ensure compliance with local regulatory frameworks. The exchange joined the Paxos Global Dollar Network in July 2025, which provides access to USDG for trading and transfers.
According to Chainalysis, cross-border stablecoin transaction volumes increased by 77.5% to $220,3 billion in the 12 months ending June 2026. These flows are primarily driven by trade, remittances, and savings. Unlike algorithmic stablecoins, the assets supported by OKX are described by their issuers as being fully backed by reserves including cash and Treasury bills.
