NX Technologies, a San Sebastián-based specialist in power electronics, has secured a €1.9 million grant from Spain's PERTE VEC program. The funding will support a research and development project focused on creating a new generation of traction inverters specifically for light electric vehicles.

The project is scheduled to run from 2026 through 2029. NX Technologies intends to use these resources to accelerate its technological development and expand its presence in the light electromobility sector, which the company identifies as a rapidly growing market with limited specialized competition.

The company currently maintains operations in the Netherlands, France, the UK, India, and the USA, while keeping Spain as its primary base. NX Technologies emphasizes that all its product design and manufacturing processes take place within Europe.

NX Technologies has previously raised over €10 million in total public and private funding and has invested €5.2 million in research and development. The company's workforce currently consists of approximately 40 employees, following a 50 per cent growth in staff last year.

Beyond inverters, the firm produces battery management systems for various vehicle types, including motorcycles, quad bikes, trucks, buses, and tractors. CEO Mikel Peral stated that the new product range aims to serve road, maritime, and aviation applications.
