Nvidia has released firmware version 1.1.10 for G-Sync Pulsar displays, focusing on motion clarity improvements. At a 240Hz refresh rate and a Pulse Width setting of 50, the MPRT response time is reduced to 0.97ms, marking the first time the metric has dropped below 1ms.
The update also enhances motion clarity at 360Hz, with MPRT response times improving from 1.64ms to 1.14ms. These performance gains are achieved at a peak brightness of 480 nits. Nvidia claims the motion clarity at these settings is comparable to a 1000Hz display.
G-Sync Pulsar technology combines variable refresh rate (VRR) with dynamic backlight strobing to reduce screen tearing and motion blur. The system synchronizes backlight flickering with the refresh cycle to maintain image quality during high-speed motion.
The firmware update also addresses stability issues. Previously, the system would automatically toggle the G-Sync Pulsar feature during high-load gaming to prevent visual artifacts. The new version optimizes this behavior to ensure more consistent operation.
Currently, G-Sync Pulsar support is limited to four high-end monitor models: Acer Predator XB273U F5, AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV, and MSI MPG 272QRF X36.
