According to industry reports, Nvidia is planning to release a version of the GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card equipped with the GB203 GPU. This move marks a shift from the previously reported GB205 architecture.

The full GB203 chip features 10,742 CUDA cores and a 256-bit memory bus. To adapt this silicon for the RTX 5070, Nvidia will need to disable 42.8% of the CUDA cores and 25% of the memory bus width.

The company previously utilized the GB205 GPU for the GeForce RTX 5060 model. By repurposing higher-tier chips for lower-tier products, Nvidia aims to optimize the utilization of partially defective GPU dies and balance supply and demand across its product lineup.
