Nvidia is reportedly preparing to launch an RTX 5080 variant equipped with 24 GB of memory, a model previously considered for the Super branding. Industry sources suggest the card will debut in the first quarter of 2027, potentially serving as the flagship gaming option amid shortages of the RTX 5090.

The hardware will feature the GB203 graphics processor with 10,752 CUDA cores and 24 GB of GDDR7 memory. Despite the memory upgrade, the device retains a 256-bit memory bus and has an estimated power consumption of approximately 415 W.

The shift in strategy follows the reallocation of GB202 processors toward more profitable professional accelerators and rising memory costs driven by AI industry demand. Nvidia intends to position this model between standard gaming cards and professional-grade hardware.

The expected price for the 24 GB version ranges from $2000 to $3000. For context, the base RTX 5080 model with 16 GB of memory launched with a starting price of $1000.
