The Japanese market is facing a severe shortage of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards. The flagship RTX 5090 has completely sold out in retail stores, with its final price reaching approximately $10 000 before disappearing. Current secondary market prices for the model are reportedly even higher.
The RTX 5080 is also affected, with top-tier versions now priced near $2 500. Reports suggest that Nvidia might halt shipments of the GB202 GPU used in gaming cards to prioritize the production of professional RTX PRO accelerators. This potential shift could impact the availability of the RTX 5090 and the China-specific RTX 5090 D v2.
Mid-range models are also seeing significant price hikes. For instance, the ASUS RTX 5060 Ti Dual White with 8 GB of memory is listed from $749 to $1 292 depending on the manufacturer. Meanwhile, the RTX 5070 is selling for $900–1 200, and the RTX 5070 Ti ranges from $1 454 to $1 795.
