Nvidia is reportedly in discussions to acquire the AI startup Reflection AI. While the chipmaker has not confirmed these talks, the companies already maintain a business relationship involving GPU supply and collaboration through the Nvidia Nemotron Coalition.
Reflection AI, founded by former Google DeepMind researchers, recently reached a pre-money valuation of $25 billion, up from $8 billion in previous rounds. Its investors include Sequoia, Lightspeed, and Nvidia, which has already invested approximately $800 million in the startup.
On October 5, 2026, the company launched its first model, Beam. The model features 501 billion parameters, was trained on 23.8 trillion tokens, and utilizes a mixture-of-experts architecture. It is positioned as an alternative to proprietary models and Chinese open-weight developments.
The startup is pursuing significant infrastructure projects, including potential compute arrangements with SpaceX worth up to $6.3 billion. Additionally, it plans to construct a 250 MW AI data center in South Korea in partnership with Shinsegae Group, utilizing Nvidia technology.
