According to industry leaker Kopite7Kimi, Nvidia may delay the release of its next-generation RTX 60 series graphics cards until 2028. The shift to the advanced TSMC 3N or 3NP process node for consumer GPUs is now expected to take six years, following the use of the TSMC 4N node in both the RTX 40 and RTX 50 series.
The delay is reportedly linked to the GR20x product cycle. Nvidia is currently prioritizing its data center and enterprise hardware, specifically the Rubin architecture, which the company expects to generate $20 billion in revenue by the third quarter of 2027. This focus on high-demand AI infrastructure limits the resources available for consumer GPU development.
Supply chain constraints also play a role, as Nvidia faces high component costs and limited wafer capacity at TSMC. The company is allocating its memory and manufacturing resources toward more profitable enterprise products. Meanwhile, the RTX 5090 continues to face significant pricing pressure, with market listings reaching over $9,000.
