Nvidia has unveiled the DSX POD project, a modular data center solution built on the Vera Rubin computing platform. By pre-assembling and testing hardware in factory settings, the company aims to reduce deployment time on prepared sites from six months to 14 days.

The DSX POD units are housed in standard shipping containers, which come pre-equipped with servers, networking gear, power systems, and liquid cooling. This design allows for parallel construction and equipment installation, minimizing on-site work and potential integration errors.

The platform leverages Nvidia's latest hardware, including Rubin accelerators, Vera CPUs, and next-generation networking components. These modules are specifically optimized for training neural networks and processing AI inference workloads.

Nvidia is collaborating with major industry partners, including Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Bull, Foxconn, and Quanta Cloud Technology. The company emphasizes that the 14-day timeline applies specifically to deployment on pre-prepared sites.

Global shipments for the DSX POD systems are scheduled to begin in early 2027. CEO Jensen Huang noted that the strategy focuses on accelerating the time-to-value for customers by shifting complex assembly and configuration processes to the factory floor.
