Nvidia has expanded its Blackwell professional accelerator lineup with the RTX PRO 5500 Workstation Edition. The card is designed for AI tasks, rendering, physical simulation, and professional graphics. It is built on the GB202 GPU, the same processor used in the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell models.

The RTX PRO 5500 features 21 760 CUDA cores and consumes 600 W of power. It comes with 84 GB of GDDR7 memory, which is 2.5 times more than the 32 GB found in the RTX 5090. According to PNY, the device utilizes a 416-bit memory bus, providing a bandwidth of up to 1398 GB/s and an effective speed of 27 Gbps.

The accelerator supports the Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) technology, allowing the hardware to be split into two independent logical GPUs, each with 42 GB of memory. This feature is intended for server and multi-user workstation environments. The card also includes PCIe 5.0 x16 support and up to four DisplayPort 2.1b outputs.

Nvidia offers versions with both air and liquid cooling systems for professional workstations. While the company has not yet disclosed the official pricing, industry estimates suggest the cost will exceed $10 000, given that the previous RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell model with 48 GB of memory is priced at approximately $9200.
