The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card is disappearing from US retail shelves. The Micro Center chain has marked the flagship Blackwell-based model as 'Not Carried,' indicating that the product has been removed from catalogs and is not expected to be restocked.
While partner versions from Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte remain visible on the Micro Center website, they are unavailable in physical stores. Reports suggest that store employees began removing remaining stock on October 9, 2026, one day before rumors emerged regarding a potential production halt.
Currently, the only available option at most Micro Center locations is the Asus GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral Edition 20, which is sold exclusively as part of an Asus ROG 20th Anniversary Bundle priced at nearly $11 000.
Nvidia has not provided official comments on the situation. The company's website still lists the card with a starting price of $1999, though it has not been available at that price point for some time.
Industry speculation suggests that Nvidia may be reallocating its GB202 graphics processors to professional-grade product lines, such as the RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell, RTX Pro 5500, and RTX Pro 5000, which command higher market prices than the consumer gaming model.
