Nvidia has introduced the RTX Pro 5500, a professional graphics card built on the GB202 silicon. The device features 170 enabled Streaming Multiprocessors out of 192, providing 21,760 CUDA cores. This configuration offers performance levels comparable to the GeForce RTX 5090.

The card is equipped with 84GB of GDDR7 memory, utilizing 28 modules in a clamshell configuration. The memory operates across a 448-bit interface, delivering a bandwidth of 1,400 GB/s. Nvidia downclocks these chips from the standard 28 Gb/s to 25 Gb/s.

The RTX Pro 5500 serves as a bridge between the RTX Pro 5000, which has 72GB of memory, and the RTX Pro 6000, which offers 96GB. The flagship RTX Pro 6000 retails for $15,599, while the RTX Pro 5000 starts at $9,209.

Nvidia aims to fill the performance and pricing gap between its existing professional models with this release. The company expects higher profit margins by utilizing GB202 silicon in the RTX Pro 5500 compared to the GeForce RTX 5090.
