Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated on September 23 that AI laboratories should cease operations if they cannot maintain control over their models. Speaking on The Ezra Klein Show, Huang emphasized that companies must prioritize product safety, drawing a parallel to the liability faced by robotaxi developers.

Huang argued that existing legal and market frameworks are sufficient to ensure safety, rejecting the need for new government legislation. He dismissed concerns regarding existential risks from AI by 2030, assigning them a zero percent probability, a view he noted was shared by President Trump during a recent phone call.

Nvidia maintains significant financial ties to the industry, having invested approximately $30 billion in OpenAI and $10 billion in Anthropic. With a market capitalization of roughly $5.4 trillion, the company remains a primary supplier of computational infrastructure for frontier AI labs.
